Michigan SDA member Bonnie Peterson is teaching a class at the Bonafis Fine Art Center on Friday April 13 from 10am-1pm.

Workshop details:

Into the Mix: Machine Embroidery & Heat Transfers

Explore the options of adding new depth, texture and contextual language into your compositions by incorporating embroidery and photographed imagery.  Visiting artist, Bonnie Peterson shares her skills for managing machine embroidery and heat transfers via power point lecture, samples of her work and step-by-step demonstrations. There will be time and materials for students to experience and practice working with some hand embroidery and heat transfer techniques.

Peterson is glad to share her expertise by offering her advice on fabric and photo samples that students are considering for inclusion in artwork. Students are welcome to bring sewing machines equipped with either a free motion quilting foot or an embroidery foot for some additional hands-on experience. Class limited to first 18 registrants. Check out the class schedule list for registration and cost.
