SUPORT SDA...

PLETHORA OF PINCUSHIONS

Here's your chance to STICK IT to SDA!

Donate new, vintage, hip, funky, elegant, you-name-it pincushions that you've created
or purchased over the years. The resulting plethora will be sold at SDA Pop-up Bookstore with the proceeds going to support member benefits.

For more information and the guidelines, go to www.surfacedesign.org. Click the conference heading, then the conference 2013 and then member events. Check out other opportunities to participate in exhibits and a silent auction.

SNAG-A-BAG

BRING YOUR OWN BAG and put an end to the trend of boring conference totes. Upcycle one (or more) of those bags you have hanging around. Apply your creativity with dye, paint, stamping, scribbling, stitching, embellishing, etc. and transform it into a fabulous collectible, Its a green solution (plus many other colors of the rainbow).

Then SNAG-A-BAG when you bring yours to San Antonio. Swap it for a different one when you register. Put conference materials into this artful new bag and off you go. Enjoy the spectacle of all of these bags moving around the Riverwalk. Spot yours and go make a new friend. Stay open to meeting your bag's maker to complete the cycle of networking serendipity.

NO BAG TO BRING? No worries. We'll sell a special stash of extras for $25 -created and donated by other SDA members.  All proceeds go to building better member benefits.

Questions? Contact us at info@surfacedesign.org

To encourage participation, I am sharing the tote I recycled. It is heavy canvas and had a late logo on one side. I taped off the logo and painted with gesso. I used fabric paints to create the shapes and a thermofax screen for the writing. The faux rhinestones were applied using "Gem-Tac".

How about sending pictures of your creations to me  to be shown on the blog. Come on all of you SDA Michigan members, lets show conference participants our support by contributing!
