April Meeting
SDA Photography Bootcamp

Want to learn more about your camera?
Want to be able to photograph your work for shows?
This workshop is for you!

First impressions matter whether entering a competition, selling on the internet, or preparing a portfolio. According to The Artist’s Magazine, 90% of an artist’s audience will see the artwork for the first time in a print or digital image. With most show entries by CD or online, your artwork is only as good as your images. Whether you use a camera or a mobile device to photograph your artwork, it has never been more important to have the best images.
This popular workshop is presented by professional photographer Eric Law, who shares his knowledge and insights about photographing artwork in a way that is sure to enhance the quality of your images. Now in their fifth year, the workshops consistently earn high marks from participants:
·        "It was all the information I wanted given in an easy to understand format."
·        "The entire workshop was excellent. This is the way workshops should be     presented and organized."
·        "Very helpful and informative."
·        "Learned lots!"

About the Presenter
Eric Law is a professional photographer, consultant, and the founder of ShootMyArt.com™. He works exclusively with artists, galleries, and exhibitions to present their artwork at its best. His clients include many well-known and emerging artists in the Detroit area and across Michigan, and images of their artwork have been published in books and national magazines. Eric also is a frequent lecturer to artist groups and teaches photography workshops. He is a member of Professional Photographers of America and works from his studio in Berkley, Michigan.

This intensive one-day workshop teaches you the fundamentals of how to photograph your artwork with either a traditional digital camera or the camera in an iPhone®, iPad®, or Android™ device and to prepare the images for juried shows. The workshop covers concepts and terminology, camera features, and how to light and photograph a variety of artwork. You also learn how to process the images using either Photoshop® Elements or available photo apps for a phone or tablet and format them for show entries. Included is a workbook with material from the workshop for future reference.
