From Susie Krage, SDA Michigan Area Representative:
SDA-SAQA MICHIGAN
The combined SDA-SAQA picnic just got bigger.
Your team has decided to add a fiber yard sale to the event. So, if you want to do some studio cleaning and have a place to sell those valuable fiber related items, here is your opportunity. One person's junk is another's treasure. Anything is fair game if you can use it in fiber related work.
Please have everything labeled with your name and the price. You will be responsible for selling your own things. If you have a portable table, please bring it, or a blanket for the ground. You might want to come a few minutes early to set up.
Some suggestions: books (I have a lot of quilting books and others that need to find a new home), hand dyed or commercial fabrics, dyes and appropriate auxiliaries, fiber paints, hand printed fabrics, pdf fabrics, threads, embellishments (think mixed media), batting, finished items, too.
The date: Sunday, June 24th at 2 p.m.
The place: Susie Krage's home in historic Indian Village.
1731 Seminole St, Detroit, 48214
The things to bring:
One item for show and tell
Its a potluck so bring a dish to share and your favorite beverage.
Sale items and a table or blanket for the ground.
Sale participants might want to bring small bills and change.
This promises to be an exciting event. Dare I say, "BE THERE OR BE SQUARE"?
It will be a great chance to mingle with others who love fiber as well as to see their work. Get inspired! And maybe find a treasure to include in your next piece.
